The Challenge
Development Month is an annual global training program for 3M employees intended to cultivate and nurture personal growth. 3M wanted to evolve the existing mark in order to differentiate from the previous year and renew interest around the program. The leaf & arrow icon in the old identity was a strong symbol of growth that we wanted to expand on with our redesign.
The Idea
A new leaf & arrow mark made program materials easy to identify at a glance, and created a solid foundation on which to overlay different design and illustration styles from year to year. A balance of consistency and flexibility ensured renewed interest for years to come.
